Beginner classes offer a way to enter the group reformer classes without prior experience with Pilates. Clients will learn about neutral spine, neutral pelvis, lateral breathing, c-curve, pelvic floor, and the basic form and structure of Pilates movements. Beginner class is suitable for anyone who has taken an introductory private session with the studio and wishes to enter the group class settings

Level 1

Focuses on the fundamentals of reformer training. Clients will be guided through the framework for all upcoming Allegro classes, with an emphasis on proper breathing and mechanics. Clients can look forward to basic double leg and single leg work, learn the correct way to abdominal curl without neck or back strain, discover pelvic curls as a tool for spinal articulation, take a relaxing stretch with “elephant”, and reinforce shoulder stabilization with arms supine series. Level 1 is suitable for anyone who has had basic training on the reformer.

Level 2

Adds more challenging fundamentals to the repertoire. This level will bring a greater sense of body awareness through movement patterns that recruit core muscle groups. Clients can expect to learn additional single leg work, complete abdominal exercises with both legs extended, elongate the spine with “short spine”, challenge the arms with arms seated series, begin to jump, fire the gluteus with “sleepers”, and include more back strengthening movements. Level 2 is suitable for anyone who had completed Level 1 and wants to increase their flexibility and strength.

Level 3

Requires a greater understanding of stabilization and engagement. This intermediate level focuses on lengthening, strengthening, coordination, and balance. Clients can participate in exercises incorporating props, rigorous strap work, deeper stretches like “kneeling lunge”, challenge the whole body with “up stretch series”, complete kneeling arm work, and learn the entire jumping repertoire. Level 3 is suitable for anyone who has completed Level 2 and is willing to focus on furthering their self awareness and technique..

Level 4

Our highest level group allegro class available. This high intensity class offers all exercises that can be performed on the allegro reformer. Clients can test their flexibility, endurance, and strength in exercises such as “splits”, “tendon stretch”, and “teaser 1, 2, and 3”. This class requires a strong foundation in body awareness, coordination, and stabilization. Each exercise will take fundamentals from previous levels in conjunction with new techniques or difficult modifications, in order to create fluidity and structure to your body. Level 4 is suitable for anyone who has completed Level 3 and desires to master the Pilates reformer repertoire.

Bump Pilates

Our Pilates for Pregnancy classes provide a full-body “work-in” that targets the core: strengthening abdominal and pelvic floor muscles—which are vital for pushing during delivery. Pilates also strengthens the lower back, legs and arms, increases spinal flexibility, lengthens the spine and waist, and opens the chest and shoulders. Focusing on these areas through controlled, supervised movements on our Allegro Reformer machines addresses the structural and postural imbalances that may occur during pregnancy without the likelihood of injury or over-stretching. Movements are modified for maximum safety during each trimester and special “C” shaped seats are used to avoid lying on the back. Additionally, modifications are made per trimester to ensure safety of mom and baby throughout the continuous body changes.
